The semester is coming to an end, and with the stress of final exams, projects and papers, it’s becoming harder for Fashionistos and Fashionistas to get dressed for class. I’ve noticed several students wearing pajamas to their final classes, and I’m sure the gloomy weather has something to do with it. Our area has experienced nothing by cloudy skies and pouring rain all week, so this Fashionista’s bright ensemble pleasantly stood out against the dark gray clouds covering the Austin College campus.
Despite all of the stress she must have been feeling, this Fashionista used the end of the semester as an opportunity to leave a lasting impression on the students of Austin College. Her mastering of the color-blocking trend certainly made her look stand out against the sea of pajamas and flip flops on campus. The Fashionista wore a neutral black tank top with an embellished neckline and a pair of strappy wedge sandals in a neutral color. Though her shoes and tank top are certainly stylish, the piece that really stands out is her bright pink high-waisted shorts; they really pop against the neutral base she created with her tank top and sandals. She added a thin studded belt to her brightly-colored shorts, and she completed the look by wearing some rings that have personal meaning for her. This Fashionista is clearly a pro at the color-blocking trend!
How To: Color-blocking is a trend that will never fade. Try out the trend by pairing your brightly-colored shorts or pants with a neutral top and some sexy sandals. Top off the look with some jewelry that speaks to you, and your ensemble will surely turn some heads.
