ALL IN THE DETAILS: Rain, Rain, Don't Go Away

February 7th, 2017 at 2:10am

There comes a time in every Fashionista’s life when they have the perfect outfit picked out, and they are ready to rock the world. But, when they step outside it starts raining, and it ruins the whole outfit and not to mention, the hair. Contrary to popular belief, the rain can indeed be an outfit enhancer! Just look into the quaint details of this Fashionista’s outfit, and you will be wishing to dance in the rain every day!

This Fashionista did not let a few rain drops ruin her day, and neither should you! Her navy, double breasted pea coat makes for the perfect statement piece. The gold buttons add a pop of preppy glitz, making this Fashionista look like a ray of sunshine. Penny loafers were a big trend this fall and can easily transition into the spring season with a bit of sprucing, like the gold bar detail in this Fashionista’s pair. Wearing navy and black together seems to be a major fashion faux pas for some, but this Fashionista proved us all wrong. Matching the gold detail on the navy coat and black loafers really ties the two colors together. To show off the statements pieces of the outfit, keep the jewelry to a minimum. Wearing a ring, bracelet, and simple heart tag necklace keeps your eye focused on the prize. Adding a unique umbrella brightened this Fashionista’s rainy day look and really showed off her fearless personality. She opted for a Kate Spade New York one with sassy eye detail.

When the dark clouds start rolling in, use it as an excuse to open up that cute umbrella, and make it the focal point of your outfit. Staying dry is important, but do not let it dull your sparkle. Shine through with a polished and poised look, like a perfectly tailored pea coat and charming flats with a little metal or gem detail. Do not let the weather rain on your parade. Just stay sleek and casual, and you will be sure to see that sunshine in no time!
