ALL IN THE DETAILS: Pretty In Print

Whether its stripes, polka-dots, chevron, tribal or floral, just the right amount of print can really make an outfit stand out. The most treasured part of any ensemble is usually something relatively minor—an accessory, fabric, stitching or some kind of embellishment such as beading. Details are important in more than just essays and alibis. The most fabulous Fashionistas have a true eye for detail and can spot a great accessory a mile away. Fashion is an art, and sometimes the story is found in the small, less noticeable things rather than the big picture.

This Fashionista looks pretty in prints with a tribal print blouse, knit sweater shrug and black knee-high boots. The black and white printed top really pops against the solid black leggings, creating a contrast that is polished but has a fun winter flair. Now we get to my favorite part—her shoes! In this harsh winter weather, tall leather boots are every girl’s saving grace. They’re warm, and they look great with just about anything. These particular boots lace at the back of the knee. Finding boots with a little extra detail really adds to your winter look. Try searching for boots with studs, buckles, stitching or extra lacing to keep your edge. There’s a little biker babe in all of us!

How To: Tired of wearing leggings and skinny jeans? Try breaking out that summer tribal print bodycon dress and pairing it with tights, an oversized cardigan and tall boots. You can still stay warm and show off more of your feminine side. For a night out, replace the sweater with a leather moto jacket.
