ALL IN THE DETAILS: Pretty In Pearls

July 25th, 2016 at 2:00am

Jackie Kennedy once said that “pearls are always appropriate,” and I don’t know of anyone who would disagree.

Pearls are timeless—they’re a staple of vintage fashion. Industry icons like Audrey Hepburn were known for their bold pearl accessories and the look has never gone out of style. Pearls are a symbol of sophistication and class. Regardless of if they are real or fake, they give any outfit a hint of maturity and are the perfect go-to for fancier occasions.

Take this Fashionista for example. Her otherwise simple navy dress was elevated in style with pearl detailing along the neckline, making it perfect for an occasion such as the graduation ceremony that she was attending. In addition to the details on the garment itself, she also utilized a variety of unique accessories to create a look all her own. This Fashionista chose a floppy sun hat, a pair of wedges, a cross-body bag and simple bangle bracelets to complete her special occasion outfit.

The blue color of her strappy wedges matched the color of her dress perfectly, while her hat and cross-body bag created a nice complement with their more neutral colors. This Fashionista’s hat contributed to her classy, preppy look. From the fun silhouette to the bow detail on the back, she couldn’t have chosen a more fun summer accessory.

How To: Don’t hesitate to rock pearls. From necklaces, to earrings, or even detailing on a dress, you’ll be the classiest looking one in the room. Start with smaller details or graduate to a statement necklace; either way, you can’t go wrong.
