ALL IN THE DETAILS: Present Day Princess

Now that Halloween is over, everyone is putting their crazy costumes back in the closet. But I’ve found that as Florida’s weather is cooling down a bit (70 degrees!) I can get more creative with my outfits. It’s all about layering in the fall, especially when it’ll be chilly in the morning and sweltering come afternoon. Sometimes fall fashion is about making compromises, like wearing jeans with short sleeves, or long sleeves and shorts–letting your legs bear the possible cold.

This Fashionista chose to let her legs get some sun as she moved through campus in her boho getup. The navy and orange colors in her Free People dress are very autumnal, and they match nicely with her beaded bag. Simple jewelry and tan oxfords bring the look together. The Fashionista said she is drawn to both classic and bohemian pieces.

I’ve had my eye on this Fashionista for a while. She sits in front of me in Victorian Literature and always seems to dress like a trendy Disney princess. Her long red hair channels Ariel. Her love of floral is very Snow White, while her plethora of cute little shoes embody Cinderella. On this day I finally remembered to bring my camera, I was chasing her down the hallway to catch her style on film.

Perhaps this Fashionista is still embracing Halloween. She’s dressing as a different princess every day. Or perhaps I have an overactive imagination and like to think that a living product of fairy tales partners with me in class. Regardless, the details of her outfit add to the fairy tale.
