ALL IN THE DETAILS: Pop of Color

February 2nd, 2016 at 2:00am

Unless you have an extremely high body temperature (in which case, you should probably see a doctor), there has been no escaping the freezing temperatures that have graced our beautiful campus this past week. It can get hard to dress outside the box when the temperatures start to drop. However, that doesn’t mean you have to conform to the trend of all-black dressing. Sometimes, a nice pop of color can be enough to warm up your day.

This Fashionista braves the cold weather in style. She keeps warm with a camel-colored, faux suede jacket that keeps her warm without betraying her sartorial senses. A striped turtleneck underneath adds dimension and warmth, while the colorful bib necklace adds a pop of color to the otherwise neutral look. It’s always tough to stray from the warm embrace of UGGs, but this Fashionista keeps her feet warm in these trendy stacked booties. She is able to keep warm, but still stay cool with this cover worthy outfit.

How To: Putting together this look is very simple. Try layering a mock turtleneck or a cropped sweater under a statement jacket to keep you warm and stylish for the winter. Don’t be afraid to branch out with a crazy statement necklace, as well. If the idea of heeled boots makes your feet want to scream, try a pair of flat boots with a bit of a lift. Now that you have the tools for a successful winter look, feel free to build off of this or even go for some crazy and cute cold weather looks.
