ALL IN THE DETAILS: Plaid It’s Spring

Happy spring! This early spring the sun has been shining, but the wind has been howling, leaving students and my fellow Fashionistas/os all over the east coast confused on how to approach this weather. Although the weather may be confusing, where there’s a will there is always a way and like all Fashionistas/os, we always make it happen. Some details are hard to miss during this whirlwind weather such as a classic plaid shirt. Many people associate the plaid print with school and the oh-so dreaded activities that it came with, but plaid has reinvented itself and has created quite the trend throughout the 2010s. It is now an essential part for any girl’s on the go wardrobe, the comfort and the versatility of a plaid is all you need.

This Fashionista rocked her RAD plaid in the most classic way as a shirt. Her cool style and edgy details created the ultimate way to tackle this howling spring. Rocking her plaid with her vintage leather jacket and boyfriend jeans added the edge and comfort to this outfit. Her nude ballet flats created the perfect balance throughout her outfit. Her plaid shirt created another layer of warmth while not being overbearing under her jacket. The colors of her plaid kept you in the mood of spring and withstood the awesome sun. A plaid shirt holds so much versatility, whether its wrapping it around your waist for some detail or even creating a cool skirt by buttoning it up and tying the sleeves at the waist to create a new look. Have fun with your plaid it will create the perfect finishing touch to your outfit.

How To: Do you think that your plaid isn’t for you? Try pairing it as an accessory to your outfit instead of the staple item of your whole look. Such as wearing it with plain high-waisted jeans and graphic tee and tying it around your waist so that the outfit can be simple in the front and a party in the back!
