ALL IN THE DETAILS: Perfect Pendants

As winter continues, it only gets colder and colder. It’s time for all of the cozy jackets, sweaters and cardigans in your closet to make an appearance. When bundled up in all of these warm layers, how can you stand out when everyone is wearing that same knit sweater or cardigan? Accessorize, accessorize, accessorize. Adding some eye-catching jewelry can attract attention toward you from left and right. Details are everything. So, with that being said, adding jewelry should be at the top of your list as an easy transformation of a simple look.

When I spotted this Fashionista on campus, I knew that she knew exactly how to change a simple outfit into something even more fabulous. She chose to wear a plain black tank and lightweight gray cardigan, which, might I add, is the perfect neutral layered look that anyone can find in their own wardrobe. She paired her tank and cardigan with maroon high-waisted jeggings to add the perfect pop of color without overdoing it. Her short black booties were a perfect match for her outfit because they don’t take away from the rest of it, especially her jewelry.

This Fashionista matched her jewelry well by sticking to gold with hints of black. Her gold pendant necklace was a perfect touch because it elongates her torso and also makes her high-rise jeggings more noticeable. She didn’t stop with the accessories there. Pairing her long pendant necklace with a gold watch and rings pulls her entire look together from head to toe. Pendant necklaces are perfect to add to any neutral colored outfit because they add a statement without being too overwhelming. I loved her simple gold pendant because it could easily be paired with almost anything in your closet.

How To: Look through your closet for basic neutral colored pieces—the simpler the better. Add a long pendant necklace along with other pretty jewels to give your outfit some sparkle. By following this, all eyes will be found staring at your gorgeous accessories and most importantly, your neck.
