Although the temperature this winter has been staying above zero degrees Fahrenheit, Michiganders are still being treated to their fair share of snow. But, do not be alarmed! Warmer, snowy weather gives us Fashionistas/os a chance to change up our outerwear while giving us a fighting chance to avoid frostbite. It may seem like a simple task to choose a coat to venture out into the frozen tundra, but think about all the exotic possibilities that now lie before you. Imagine walls of bright faux fur jackets and classic tan calf length peacoats that are fighting for space in your closet.

These Fashionistas are sporting two classic cut peacoats with individuality. They exert the same bottom spirit, wearing all-black underneath. From their black leggings to their black boots, these Fashionistas know where essential basics fit in. Choosing the classic black coat, this Fashionista’s pairing of black leather booties, a black shoulder bag and a gray knit beanie is perfection down to the T.

Pink is becoming the main attraction. This next Fashionista’s look gives a girly twist to the modern day peacoat. Her light pink coat stood out from all the dark colors around campus. Add the fact that the blue Louis Vuitton scarf complements the shiny steel blue purse she is carrying made her stand out even more. These Fashionistas are rad!

How To: Did you happen to find the perfect coat that represents your personality, but you don’t know what to wear it with? I have the answers for you! Start with a basic under layer to focus the attention on the coat, making it the center of the look. Pair it with a long sleeve striped T-shirt and a solid-colored pair of pants. These simple layers will allow the coat to lie flat while letting its shape flatter your figure. Add some sprinkles on top with a fun handbag, a beanie or a rocking pair of sunnies.
