Well here we are, Fashionistas and Fashionistos, on another summery Monday to celebrate another fabulous Fashionista. I hope your summer has been as relaxing and every bit of fun as you could have hoped for it to be!
It is at this point in the summer that I find my motivation to put together new and innovative outfits start to wane. One way that I combat this fashion fatigue is by getting inspired by other Fashionistas and their outfits. This Fashionista was definitely able to get me out of my fashion rut.
This Fashionista perfectly executed her full ensemble. Each element of her outfit works together and complements the look as a whole. It may seem like it takes the ultimate creative eye to put together a look like this, but it’s quite simple when it is broken down into simpler elements.
Personally, I am obsessed with this Fashionista’s yellow patterned dress. It speaks for itself and reminds me of the sun, which is never a bad thing. Finding a bold piece like a patterned dress such as this Fashionista’s can sometimes be challenging to style.
As a rule of thumb, when styling around a bold piece, pick out elements like colors or tones to guide accessory choice. Since the dress that the Fashionista is wearing is very jewel tone based and warm-toned, it makes sense that she paired it with gold hardware. She opted for a few simple rings, necklaces and a pair of turquoise earrings.
The gold hardware meshes well with the warm tones of the dress and this Fashionista kept her jewelry light and minimalistic. Since her dress carries a heavy pattern, the choice of finer jewelry can complement the look better than a heavy statement necklace.
For shoes, this Fashionista stuck to the minimal warm-toned color palette and added a pair of simple tan heeled sandals. Choosing toned down footwear is another way to make sure that you aren’t overdoing the look and allowing the bolder pieces speak for themselves.
Finally, one of my favorite parts of the look is the large structured bag that this Fashionista chose! I love this deep burgundy color. The deep jewel tone of the bag perfectly complements the colors of the dress and the crocodile patterned leather is a nice contrast from the faux suede of the shoes.
Overall, this Fashionista perfected the bold statement dress! Having a fun, statement dress or piece like this in your fashion arsenal is an absolute must. Even if styling can be a challenge, in the end you can create a fun and unique look that looks professionally put together.
