ALL IN THE DETAILS: Obsessing Over Overalls

I have long associated people wearing overalls with farming, toddlers and the ’90s.  Whenever I think of overalls, I automatically think of Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen sporting them while playing Michelle Tanner on many episodes of Full House. I must admit I was originally a bit skeptical of the overall trend when it first started appearing on runway shows and clothing stores. Seeing them instantly gave me a flashback to my three-year-old self enthusiastically running around the playground in my overalls during 1998. However, I have grown fond of the trendy overalls being worn today.

Overalls are a perfect outfit for any day plans during the summer such as going to an amusement park or spending the day at a park. Overalls are super comfy and a great choice to wear for your summer adventures. My favorite way to style overalls is by pairing short jean overalls with a simple T-shirt underneath. Cute sneakers, such as Converse, and a pair of sunglasses are fun accessories to add to this summer outfit.

This Fashionista added her own spin on the overall trend by rocking an overall dress instead of the traditional overall shorts or pants. She paired her dress with a striped T-shirt underneath. The outfit has a sporty luxe feel with her black adidas sneakers. Her black oversized shades help keep her cool in Miami’s sunny temperature, and her brown satchel bag keeps all her belongings comfortably right by her side.

How To: If you’re feeling a little intimidated by the overall trend, why not step out of your comfort zone and try it out? Wear whatever makes you feel the most comfortable whether that be an overall dress, pants or shorts. Make sure to personalize your outfit with accessories such as cool jewelry or trendy shades.
