ALL IN THE DETAILS: No Laces, No Problem

While spending the weekend in Boston, I got a real taste of the what the east coast has to offer: great food, beautiful scenery, amazing shopping and even better street style. While the east coast has a reputation for being preppy and proper, I tracked down a few Fashionista’s who created a harmony between New England class and trend. This Fashionista’s look was one that really caught my attention with her mirrored sunnies, bucket bag and most importantly, her white leather slip-ons.

Slip-ons are back on the fashion scene and more glam than ever. Every designer from Vince to Opening Ceremony has created their own version of the slip-on that vary from animal print to studded suede. Unlike laced sneakers, the slip-on is a very crisp clean look that is still sporty and chic. This Fashionista’s outfit was one I really loved for the way she rocked her trendy shoes and sunglasses with a very elegant, refreshing color scheme. Had this Fashionista not worn her edgy slip-on’s, her look would not be as on trend and upscale—proving that style really is all in the details.

If you’re still not sold on owning a pair of slip-ons for yourself, look no further. Not only do these shoes bring out the chic in sporty chic, they are beyond practical. I am a huge believer of looking put together and stylish whether it be at the gym or on a date. Slip-on’s keeps you on trend for a day at the harbor (just like this Fashionista), wearing on campus or even in between running errands and hot yoga sessions. Exploring all the styles, patterns and textures they come in is a Style Guru’s paradise, so slip in Fashionistas!

How to: Rocking a pair of slip-on’s is rather effortless, however, making the outfit look crisp and put together is one further, highly recommended Style Guru step you should definitely take. Do so by pairing your slip-ons with a matching bag to pull the whole look together, just as this Fashionista did. Make sure to complete your new slip-on look with a latte in one hand, dog leash in the other and enjoying every moment this summer has to offer.
