ALL IN THE DETAILS: Mixed, but Matched

I think that a monochromatic look can be super chic when done right. I mean, look at how RAD Gigi Hadid looks when she wears those bomb monochromatic get-ups. So, for this look, I took inspiration from the oh-so-popular trend and added my own touch of flair.

Blue is the easiest color for me to wear because navy blue is pretty close to black, and light blue is pretty similar to white—and I am a big fan of my neutrals. The idea behind this look was to mix and match tones of blue to give off the vibe of a monochromatic outfit—while making it a bit more exciting. I chose to keep it casual by pairing destroyed denim cut-offs with a more polished blouse. This blouse is fab because it has that monochrome idea to it, while still having some gorgeous details. I love the thin stripes, wide sleeves and those amazing buttons. Sticking with the same color story, I added my absolute favorite pair of sandals by Mabu by Maria BK. They make this outfit by adding an element of interest. The bag I decided to pair with it is a navy blue Pashli by Phillip Lim. It works because it complements the pom-poms on my sandals. Finally, I wore a super neutral pair of shades to keep the focus on the blue tones. I love how the lighter lenses and gold rims on the aviators add a touch of glam to this otherwise casual outfit.

How To: To rock a monochromatic look, work in different textures, patterns and shades of one color. Also, don’t be afraid to mix patterns with bold accessories. As long as they complement each other and aren’t paired too close together, they will step your monochromatic look up to the next level of fabulousness.
