ALL IN THE DETAILS: Matchmaker

After several weeks of profiling fabulous Fashionistas, it’s time that I feature a Fashionisto! With midterms finally ending and spring on the horizon, it’s now time for everyone to figure out what they’re doing for the summer. This Fashionisto’s style is dressed up but laid back enough for simply a day of finishing homework on campus or a meeting with a potential summer employer.

He’s wearing a green Vineyard Vines pullover that is a staple in his wardrobe. He pairs this with navy chinos and a casual, gray pointer sneaker. Even though his look is relatively simple, the few subtle details really add to the look and take it up a notch from a T-shirt and jeans. For him, it’s all about matching. He explained that he matched the shoulders of his pullover with his pants to ensure that his look went together, and he does this regularly with different pieces. He keeps his accessorizing simple with a sleek, boldface watch. He doesn’t work too hard to create a complicated outfit, but just a little effort makes him look so much more presentable than if he stuck to a daily uniform of sweatpants. Guys, take note.

How To: Not sure how to create a dressed up but laid back outfit? Start with a colored pair of chinos and find a top that corresponds in some way. They don’t have to match perfectly, but just make sure they don’t clash. Spring is (hopefully) right around the corner so get ready to mix it up. Go out of your comfort zone with some teal or peach pants or a new style of shoe.
