ALL IN THE DETAILS: Little Black Dress

With the end of the school year near, formals begin to approach. It’s easy to get lost in schoolwork, and the chaos of finals doesn’t leave you much time to find a new dress. Or  maybe a new dress just doesn’t fit quite right in your budget. If that’s the case, I’m here to remind you that you can never go wrong with a little black dress. Black is always in style and the little black dress is always a classic choice. One way to grab everyone’s attention and stand out is to accessorize!

I caught this Fashionista on the way to her Greek formal. I loved the polka-dot mesh detailing on the sides of her black dress. It gave the dress different textures and kept it from being too simple. I also loved the circle skirt; it’s nice and breezy which will keep you cool during the summer heat. Additionally, it’ll let you dance the night away without worrying about anything being out of place.

Now let’s get to the accessories, the most important part. With formal being long and a bit hectic, it’s best to bring a small shoulder bag that fits just the necessities. This Fashionista’s Tory Burch black chain shoulder bag not only gives the black dress a pop of gold but also allows just enough space for her phone, lipstick and wallet. The gold chain on her purse matches perfectly well with her gold kate spade new york initial necklace. I love pairing a low neckline with a necklace in order to keep the chest area not looking too bare.

You can definitely expect a long night of dancing, so a pair of wedges is a great shoe choice. This Fashionista chose a pair of pink nude wrap wedges with comfort in mind. These wedges definitely complement her pale pink kate spade new york watch. It’s important to be on time for these events, and a watch will definitely help you accessorize and arrive timely.

How To: If you’ve been longing to wear a pair of new earrings or any new accessories, a black dress would be the perfect time to do so. Although this Fashionista stuck with more neutral colors, don’t be afraid to pair your little black dress with any color that might make your outfit pop!
