ALL IN THE DETAILS: Let Me Suede Your Opinion

Ah, suede, it may not be our best friend, but it’s definitely not our worst enemy, either. During the spring 2016 fashion shows from all around the world, designers and brands were incorporating suede into their shows; I don’t know if I love it or really love it. Suede has always been a familiar material to me. I remember when I was a little girl my mom bought me a pair of suede booties, and I never wanted to take them off. Even now, in my 20s, I still gravitate towards suede jackets, shoes and even mini skirts.
When I was in Paris during the spring semester, my friends and I shopped a lot in a store called Pimkie, which is a European company that sells clothes similar to Forever 21 but of better quality. The amount of suede items in that store was just overwhelming. They took it to a whole new level. Don’t get me wrong, I loved going in there; my hands easily touched every item in that store because I just love the feeling of how soft that material really is. And yes, if you’re wondering, I did buy a suede biker jacket which I wore almost every day in the spring. It was easily one of the greatest purchases of all time.
My university is in Erie, PA and let’s face it, we don’t have the best weather around here. They don’t call it “Dreary Erie” for nothing, but that doesn’t stop this Fashionista from rocking this pair of black, suede thigh-high boots. She perfectly paired the boots with her gray sweatshirt dress from Free People. Since this Fashionista is all about her school work, she chose a black backpack which fits all the essentials for success. To top off her outfit, she added a black velvet choker which is one of her go-to statement pieces because it can make an outfit a little edgier. You can’t leave home without your umbrella here; it could be sunny one moment and then down pouring the next, so the black one featured is a necessity (and also on sale at T.J.Maxx).
