ALL IN THE DETAILS: Kimono Cool

Random sunny days between stretches of gloomy snow are a Colorado staple. Intense heat and freezing temperatures are both experienced in one whole day; ah, the wonderful moodiness of our fine state.  All sarcasm aside, it can be difficult to dress in such variable weather. On this unusually beautiful and warm day, all the stylish people came out to play in their best and brightest outfits.

This Fashionista embraced the sun and signs of spring in her orange floral kimono. Her kimono is silky and lightweight, the perfect layering piece to keep the breeze at bay without having to sweat in the sun. The breezy silhouette and draped sleeves give a casual and effortlessly chic vibe. The bold orange color and blue paisley print make for an unexpected color combination that is fresh and perfect for spring. To play up the blue in her kimono, this Fashionista wore a light blue V-neck to really make the kimono pop. Jeans and lace applique lace-up booties pulled the outfit together for a casual, colorful look. Kimonos are a great alternative to your everyday cardigan, and there are many to choose from. Here is a pretty orange kimono, a floor-length lace kimono and a fun fringe kimono perfect for shimmying and shaking.

How To: Staring at the colorful kimono in your closet, but not sure how to rock it? Take a cue from our Fashionista and pair it with a shirt that pulls one color from the kimono and grab your favorite jeans and lace-up booties. Don’t feel like wearing pants? Grab a solid colored skater dress from your closet and pair it with the kimono and some knee-high boots. Kimonos are a versatile layering piece, so don’t be afraid to get creative with your styling.
