As temperatures rise and the sun continues to shine, it’s only natural that we switch out the heavy sweaters and dark hues for our brighter and lighter wardrobe pieces. Personally, I’m a huge fan of anything black, so you can imagine my struggle when it comes to summer style. While studying abroad in London this spring, I found that many Fashionistas were able to transition their colder items to the warm weather trends in effortless fashion. To embrace their European ways, I have been in search of that summer staple piece that pairs perfectly with my winter favorites. Enter the kimono, a fashion item that varies in size, print and texture. Lace, sleeveless, floor length or cropped; you name it—the kimono can do it. Add the garment to the most informal of outfits for a touch of elegance, or pair it with a sundress to create the ultimate look for all of those outdoor parties.
