ALL IN THE DETAILS: Keep It Simple

September 7th, 2016 at 2:00am

I am a firm believer in keeping things simple when it comes to clothes. As much as I love a printed dress or top every now and then, I feel as though those pieces never stay in my closet as long as solids do. You can do so much more with staple pieces, like this Fashionista’s white denim shorts and black halter top. From a financial standpoint, you’re getting more bang for your buck by buying versatile pieces you can wear a bunch of different ways rather than busy, printed items that you only wear once or twice!

Embroidery, lace and crochet are all subtle, timeless elements that can add plenty of interest to a solid top when you don’t want it to be so plain. The top this Fashionista is wearing demonstrates just that.

Another one of my favorite ways to elevate basics is to accessorize. Chokers are all the rage right now and clearly this Fashionista got the memo! I’m obsessed with her gold and red beaded choker from Free People. I was a little unsure about the choker craze at first but I’ve grown to love them! They add the perfect amount of edge to any outfit and look super #RAD.

In addition, shoes are a fun and easy way to amplify an outfit. These Steve Madden lace up sandals are an essential, especially for the summer. The lace up detail is not only trending in the shoe department, but also in clothing such as shirts, dresses and shorts.

All in all, Fashionistas, it is true what they say: less is definitely more.
