ALL IN THE DETAILS: I Got It From My Momma

With spring comes the courage to test the style waters and embrace hot trends. These past few seasons, high-waisted bottoms have been making their inevitable comeback, and this spring is no exception. Many have been slow to jump on the bandwagon due to the correlation between high-waist and mom jeans. But the high-waisted shorts are here in full swing, and Fashionistas everywhere are ready for the trend. I have to admit, at first I was a bit apprehensive to give this new waistline a try, but quickly realized that there are so many options out there that I was sure to find one perfect for me. So, from my triumphant risk, I encourage you to jump out of your comfort zone this spring and try out a high-waist in one form or another!

This Fashionista shows off the most classic and common high-waist option: jean shorts. Her adorable distressed denim shorts are the perfect spring and summer staple. By pairing them with a plain gray T-shirt, she perfects her laid back look. To accessorize her outfit, she adds sunglasses, a basic gold necklace, some earrings and a cross-body bag.

My favorite part of the high-waist trend is the variety of options it comes in. From shorts and skirts to jeans and fun pants, there are limitless possibilities. With so many choices, this trend can be embraced for virtually any occasion. You can show off a high-waisted skirt and top for a night out or some jean shorts and T-shirt for a relaxing weekend barbeque with family. I for one am especially excited to try out the new high-waist flare leg jeans that are currently making a statement on the streets. What version of the trend are you dying to try?

How To: Just got an adorable new crop top but aren’t feeling quite ready to show off all that skin? Don’t worry, grab a pair of high-waist shorts and embrace all your confidence with your slightly more covered up new look! If it’s still a bit chilly for shorts and a crop top, add a cute cardigan for some warmth and a dynamic spring outfit.
