ALL IN THE DETAILS: How To Get The Feels

One of the most interesting things that this mild winter has brought us is the ability to wear garments made of fabrics and textures we would usually not see together. This Fashionista is keeping up with the winter knit and fur trend. Her whole outfit is picturesque of the silently dramatic trend that Worth Global Style Network (or WGSN) calls, “elemental.”

She is wearing a heavy, white cable knit sweater with a white tulle dress underneath. By using her keen attention to detail, she has created both fluidity and separation through the different textures of fabrics. The differentiation between the two fabrics gives this outfit a simulated waistline. She has paired her mostly monochrome outfit with a light pink, faux fur coat and black combat style boots. The sweater, coat and boots add a winter feel to her otherwise light and airy persona.

How To: You maybe wondering, “How to get the feels,” and, therefore, I asked our Fashionista where she was able to find such interesting yet basic garments. She went on to inform me that she does a lot of internet and thrift shopping just to find the right pieces. You can simulate her look by pairing your favorite knit sweater over a lightweight, circle skirt or A-line dress and a fur coat. If you’re without one of these items, feel free to do some internet or thrift shopping, or both on a website called ThredUp. This look does not have to be monochrome, so get creative and show off your Fashionista/o.
