ALL IN THE DETAILS: Hot Weather, Haute Visors

Twas 30 minutes prior to my arrival and all through the cabin, not a passenger was stirring, not even a stewardess. All the suitcases were stowed in the overhead compartment with care in the hopes that Los Angeles was soon to be there. Then what to my marveling eyes did appear, a tiny tinsel town and nine little white letters. A city seen so small from the sky, but so lively and miraculous, I knew in an instant it must be Los Angeles. And much quicker than the Kardashian’s rise to fame came fashions that were not actually all that strange. And so as dreams of UNIF bomber jackets and laid-back LA street wear danced in my head, I remembered a cool outfit that was destined to be said.

Clad against a city brick wall stood a baby blue floral dress, a yellow and white jersey-esque blouse, metallic creepers, ankle cut batman socks and an oversized iridescent visor. A fantastic ensemble that left my head spinning, an outfit so unusual, yet so brilliantly composed, that it got me thinking about the process in which people put their clothes together and about how the foundation of ones stylistic originality is created. This Fashionista stunned crowds on a sunny Sunday afternoon with her handmade visor and a nonchalant attitude in hand. Her visor is an epic accessory when paired with any sporty look. It easily brings this look from casual to a more sleeker, finer ensemble.

How To: To make your iridescent/oil spill looking visor the center of your look; my best recommendation would be pairing it with a black bodysuit, simple denim and white platforms for a chic day look. You could even throw on a leather jacket to carry this look into the nighttime. However, be aware of what you complement this visor with; this can easily become an overpowering piece and you don’t want to spend your day looking like you got dressed blindfolded!
