ALL IN THE DETAILS: Hippy-Chic

Ah yes, it’s summertime and the living is easy. Though it can be tempting to turn our style down a notch when the temperature soars and just throw on whatever is light, breezy or a swimsuit, summer can be a great time to experiment with different looks. Since the beginning of time, summer has gone hand in hand with a bohemian, earth goddess style that evokes a desire to travel back in time to Woodstock and dance around in the mud while Jimi Hendrix plays one of the most legendary performances in the history of mankind and rock ‘n’ roll. Okay, maybe that’s just me, but regardless, summer style has a way of inspiring even the most polished and put together of dressers to shake things up and get in touch with their undone side. The easiest way to look like you walked out of a Free People ad? Accessories, my friends. It’s all about the accessories.

This Fashionista was on her way to a yoga class, which is clearly what someone who looks this casual while wearing a beaded headband would be doing. Her printed, flared pants are a more stylish, summery twist on a pair of classic leggings. She puts them with a black bandeau top, an army green tank top and brown strappy sandals for a look that is thrown together yet casual-chic. This Fashionista doesn’t skimp on the accessories and that’s what initially caught my eye about her look. She mixes materials of wood, glass and metal in the stacks of bracelets adorning both her wrists to create an interesting contrast. Her silver and stone rings are dainty enough to wear all the time (even to a yoga class) and not look fussy.

How To: It’s important to remember not to overthink anything when you’re going for a hippy-chic look. The whole point is to channel a carefree attitude and go with what feels right! Stackable bracelets are a quick way to add a casual, boho feel to your look without much effort.
