ALL IN THE DETAILS: Hide and Go Sneaker

Fresh from the gym or just feel like rocking something sporty and casual? Well, you’re most definitely not alone. “Athleisure” has been taking college campuses by storm over the past couple of years and it doesn’t seem to be going anywhere. I can honestly say, I don’t think there has been a day that I have gone without seeing another student wearing Nike shorts (or should I say “norts”) and an oversized T-shirt. Now, obviously comfort is key when you are sitting through hours of lectures and running from one end of campus to the other in just 15 minutes, but comfortable and fashionable don’t have to be mutually exclusive.

This Fashionista is a prime example of mixing both practical and stylish with her adidas sneakers. Bloggers all over have been raving about these shoes and their versatility. Since these sneakers are super durable and easy to move around in, sprinting with a backpack on to catch that next bus is a little easier and maybe a little less dorky (one can only hope). As you can see, all you need is a pair of torn skinny jeans and a simple black top to complete the look. Even some unique statement pieces, like an edgy necklace or watch, can bump your outfit up to a whole new level. Maybe this particular style of adidas shoe is not for you? No problem, plenty of other athletic retailers such as Nike or Converse offer different styles that can ultimately achieve the same outcome. The beauty of having a simple pair of sneakers is that they can take you from the gym to class to a casual dinner with friends.

How To: Already have some plain black or white running shoes sitting around? Start there! Experiment with your style by pairing them with a distressed pair of jeans or shorts to get a feel for the look before you commit to a bigger purchase. I can promise that you won’t be the only one rocking gym shoes to class.
