ALL IN THE DETAILS: Hello, LBD

April 29th, 2016 at 2:00am

This Fashionista is rocking a super chic look that I thought was worth capturing the second I spotted her.

I’m sending praise to our Fashionista for her take on the classic LBD. I wanted to direct attention to how two separate Fashionistas channeled popular trends in completely different ways. This month’s ensemble is made for warmer days, and it deserves to be seen around campus. With the short sleeves, smaller silhouette and bare legs, this look is perfect for upcoming summer afternoons.

It’s hard to find a little black dress flexible enough to be worn to class, brunch and your weekend gig, but this one nailed it. The silhouette is fun and flirty, yet the black color adds sophistication. The cloth material allows for comfort, which is beyond important as a college student. I am loving the overalls aspect incorporated into the top part of the design—so chic! Stripes are a yes for most days, and you can never go wrong with throwing on a pair of Dr. Martens. Loose, wavy hair and a dark lip also add something special to this finished look.

Another thing I love about this combo is the ability to turn it into a night out with your girlfriends’ look. Throw on your favorite pair of YSL booties and add a cool gold choker with dainty rings.

How to: Afraid to rock an LBD around campus? Go for a more relaxed material and make sure to add detail, detail, detail. Detail is always important in any look, but especially in this one. This Fashionista went for a more vintage look by adding stripes and boots. For the more preppy readers, it would be just as easy to add bright Lilly Pulitzer accessories paired with a kate spade handbag.
