ALL IN THE DETAILS: Guy Time

Oh the wonders you can find at Kennywood Park in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania. There are old wooden roller coasters, new shiny rides and many well dressed yinzers. (A.K.A. The people of Pittsburgh). In the mix of all the flashing lights and rides, I found this Fashionisto getting off of a ride called the Black Widow. All you need to know about this ride is that it reminds me of an enormous tire swing that goes 10 times faster and 10 times higher. It was magnificent to see all the details of the architecture and machines.

That is why when this gentleman walked by I could not pass up the opportunity to photograph him. The way he paid attention to every detail in his outfit really stood out among all the fascinating lights of the park. Every detail from his wool fedora, to his black watch, to the cool elastic hem at the bottom of his pant seemed to contrast well against one another. Gentlemen, this is the kind of elastic you want at the bottom of your pants. Try and stay away from the sweatpants with elastic at the bottom that most dads secretly still have shoved in the bottom of their pants’ drawer.

For guys it can be a little bit more difficult to accessorize because most men are not willing to step out of their comfort zone. I think it is important for men to find their style and care about their appearance. Let the girls of this world get to know you a little better by the clothes you choose to wear.

How To: Go to H&M, Forever 21 or surprise yourself and walk into a random men’s store. Look for a hat or watch that goes well with your style. If those accessories are not your thing, maybe start small by buying shoes other than Sperry Top-Siders and Nike Air Jordan’s. Not saying all guys do this because that would be stereotyping. Just do yourself a favor and find an accessory that expresses yourself, and oddly enough you might feel a bit more confident and comfortable in dressing up.
