ALL IN THE DETAILS: Grunge Chic

As the chilly weather started to set in during the last few weeks of fall classes, I really took notice to all of the changes in wardrobe around me. This is my favorite time of the year for fashion. The fall transition into winter is gorgeous! Sweaters, layers, boots and coffee are all a girl needs. As we slide into winter, I’ll be thrifting for cool vintage coats and various types of winter footwear. Although the season of winter may be less favorable, the fashion can be fun. It’s a good time to try out different styles of outerwear, boots, and winter accessories. For some of us, it’s also time to rock our many pairs of Ugg boots.

I had the pleasure of having a psychology class with this stylish Fashionista who is also a makeup artist. There wasn’t one week where I did not admire her self-expression. I just had to ask her on the last day of class to share her look with the world. I can relate to her personal style because I love to wear black. This Fashionista’s use of trends, accessories, and mixing affordable pieces effortlessly is why she stands out in a crowd. And of course, her hair and makeup skills don’t hurt either.

This Fashionista’s look is comfortable and fuss free with touches of trendy details adding to its flair. She paired leggings from Garage with a printed lace-up sweatshirt from Forever 21. Then, she wore a jean jacket from American Eagle Outfitters adorned with pins. The super cute pins are purple lips, a lipstick tube, and a Sephora logo placed on both upper pockets that really pop against the denim jacket. Booties and leggings are always a good choice. This Fashionista went with a pair of ankle boots from Charlotte Russe. To complete her look, she opted for two of her favorite things in one piece: a cool leather saddle bag from BCBG with fringe.

This was the perfect outfit to show off her grunge chic style and to celebrate at a concert later on that evening with friends!
