ALL IN THE DETAILS: Goodbye Warm Weather, Hello Warm Tones

Is there anything more exciting than the beginning of the autumn season? The mildly chilly air and changing leaves means a change, for the better, in wardrobe. As soon as the weather drops all the fashionistas are pulling out their knitwear that was stored away over the hot summer months, and imagining all the fall/winter looks they can create with layering and the new season’s trends!

I was immediately drawn to the color palette of this Fashionista’s outfit. The orange sweater and maroon chocker screamed fall, and pair flawlessly together. She kept things clean and simple with a classic pair of distressed skinnies, a fall bootie, and knit sweater. To add an edgy element to the autumnal vibe, she wore a trendy choker. The unique shade of burnt, rusty orange of the sweater paired with the rich maroon choker is the perfect balance of warm tones. The rich fall colors are an unlikely pair, in that they would normally be worn on their own as a pop of color, but since the chocker is a small, yet important detail, they work so well together for this look. Chokers an easy fall trend that can be added to any look to give it an edgy vibe, or just to give an outfit some extra oomph.

This outfit is super versatile and easy to recreate and reconstruct. It’s perfect for class, weekend errands, or in this Fashionistas’s case working a retail job. It’s comfortable, while staying trendy and seasonal. When the weather gets even cooler, a leather jacket or longer anorak would be a great addition, and the booties can be swapped out for a warmer over-the-knee boot.
