ALL IN THE DETAILS: Good As Gold

There’s snow on the ground and temperatures are sub-zero—winter has come. While some people (me) might take these next few months as an opportunity to hibernate and finish all the shows on their Netflix list, others are ready to show off their chic winter outfits.

This Fashionista braved the snow in a gorgeous long, wool pea coat with brown leather trimming and gold accents—check out those snazzy buttons. The coat initially came with a set of drab shank buttons so she reached out to a designer friend to replace them with something more fitting. They go with the golden zippers like it was meant to be.

She decided to nix a scarf and instead went for a taupe mock turtleneck to accent the camel brown of the peacoat. She had on black skinny jeans and a pair of black leather booties with a chunky heel, giving her legs an elongated look. This Fashionista proved that snow doesn’t mean you have to part with your favorite heels during the winter. Just make sure they have good grips on the soles and if—like this fashionista’s boots—they’re made of real leather, use a leather protector spray to keep them from getting damaged.

So next time school forces you to leave the warm confines of your home, grab a travel mug full of something hot and put on an outfit that makes being outside worth your while. All you need is a cute coat and a solid pair of shoes.
