ALL IN THE DETAILS: Frayed And Fringed

October 13th, 2015 at 2:10am

I’ve always looked at accessorizing an outfit as the icing on the cake. It serves to enhance your outfit and even express who you are as a person. Are you bold and colorful? Or are you minimal and dainty? Either one is perfectly fine because it’s all about being true to yourself and loving what you have on. A person we can all look up to when it comes to accessorizing is Iris Apfel. She is known for occasionally sporting lavender hair and for having the most amazing couture jewelry collection (like ever). She layers necklaces on top of necklaces and is probably rocking five bangles at all times. And did I mention she’s 93? So, don’t be afraid to challenge expectations.

As we all know, fringe was a huge hit this past spring and summer and it’s even making its way into the colder months. Jackets, purses and skirts—you name it and it probably has fringe on it. I know I have a few fringed heels in my closet. If you’re interested in incorporating a little fringe in your everyday life, then this Fashionista’s look is for you. The first thing that caught my eye was her clutch. I love the use of multiple textures and colors and how one accessory can completely change an outfit. Talk about a statement. She’s rocking a boxy, denim dress with frayed ends, which plays well with the clutch. She kept the rest of her look simple with gold jewelry and short, black heels.

Ladies and gentlemen, it’s all in the details!

How To: If you really want your fringe clutch to pop, keep your outfit simple and clean with a minimal color palette, but if you want to be bold, just be bold!
