ALL IN THE DETAILS: For the Love of Lace

October 10th, 2016 at 2:00am

Ah, lace. The trend that never seems to go out of style. From classy, to boho, to dressy and so much more, lace is everywhere and it looks like it’s here to stay. As we transition from summer to fall, Fashionistas (especially in Chicago) are taking advantage of our last days of warm weather to wear breathable lace before bundling up for winter. The 1970s inspired bohemian trend was huge this summer, and this Fashionista absolutely nailed the boho-lace look.

This Fashionista’s look is totally inspired by the current natural boho trend, but with her own twist. Her white lace tunic is from Free People, which she actually wore as a dress. Under the tunic, she wears a bralette from Free People and standard black, spandex shorts to create a bold look that shows she’s not afraid to show some skin. Her black lace knee high socks and black booties are both from Urban Outfitters and adds the perfect black-white contrast while sticking with the lace theme. For accessories, her layered necklace is from Urban Outfitters and her rings are from Pandora and Etsy. She also kept her hair and makeup natural to add to the natural boho vibe of her completed look.

There are so many beautiful and unique details in this look. From the sequins sewn into the lace socks to the necklace being put on underneath the tunic, this Fashionista created a unique look that could be on the homepage of Free People! She is very inspired by the combination of urban and boho vibes from the URBN companies such as Free People, Urban Outfitters and Anthropologie.

When focusing on details, there is always the question of, “How much is too much?”. While lace can be a visually busy detail, I think that you can never have too much. It looks beautiful and elegant on anyone during any season. This Fashionista has a love for lace, and she’s inspiring me to wear more lace myself. Clearly, she proves that more lace is better!
