ALL IN THE DETAILS: Floral Power

Hey there fellow Fashionistas! Secret confession: I have always wanted to work in the men’s department of Nordstrom’s. It sounds peculiar coming from a 20-year-old female college student, but really, who can resist a nice pair of chinos and wing-tips? That’s why I am so excited to showcase this men’s look that caught my eye! Detail is definitely the name of the game when it comes to men’s apparel, and this Fashionisto was no exception. He paired a small gray floral print button-down with some deep wine pants that were so dark they looked brown at first glance (still upset they don’t sell them in the women’s department). While I am by no means a math major, there is one ratio that I always keep as my ‘rule of thumb’ that this Fashionisto definitely embraced: one trendy piece, one classic piece. He wore classic black boots that completed the whole look, but still made it interesting with chrome colored sunglasses that added the perfect trendy flair.

Santa Barbara weather has been pretty unpredictable lately, going from sunny and 75 degrees, to the next day, raining and 48 degrees. That’s why layering has become not only a cute idea, but a necessity. This Fashionisto wore a dark gray peacoat in light of the bursts of rain, but I would also recommend pairing the outfit with a black hooded jacket for a more utility-based approach.Whatever your weather, this outfit can be modified for any occasion. Cuff the pants, swap out the boots for cool sneakers or cuff the shirt. The possibilities are endless and so will be the stylish compliments that come your way! After all, it wasn’t just this Fashionisto, my amazing photographer, that made the outfit look this good.
