ALL IN THE DETAILS: Floppy Hats

The sun is now making a daily appearance that most of us aren’t used to coming out of these gloomy winter months. Really, who is going to complain because everyone is out and about all over campus soaking it in. With spring weather comes spring outfits. Everyone seems to dress a little bit cuter when it’s warmer, because we don’t have to be burdened by the hassle of our winter coats. Included in these trendy outfits are many spring accessories, as well. It’s great hanging out in the sun all day and sunglasses can sure help shade the sun, but who wants those awful bug-eyed tan lines? So what’s a better alternative?

There are so many different types of hats from baseball to cowboy to sun hats. This Fashionista rocks a fun and floppy sun hat to shade herself on this day. Since the hat is black she incorporates that color into the rest of her outfit by wearing darker tones with small pops of color. Her scarf is a prime example because the base of it is black but is covered with spring flowers in all different colors. She also adds a little brightness to her outfit with her jeans. Normally I’m an all dark denim kind of girl, especially with a darker top but her light washed destructed denim really brings this outfit to life for the spring. A clever idea this Fashionista came up with was a solution for her sunglasses, since there was already another accessory preoccupying her head. Instead of just putting them on her shirt and worrying about them falling off, she hung them in her jean pocket such that they wouldn’t get crushed. It’s a stylish idea.

How To: So you hopped on the hat bandwagon this spring, but you’re a little hesitant about rocking this look. A great way to utilize this hat is dress it up a bit with a sundress and wedges. Your floppy hat will round out the look for a fun and casual day in the city with friends. Never think you can’t wear something just because you haven’t tried it before!
