ALL IN THE DETAILS: Falling For Hues

Even though we love summer for it’s endless days and carefree vibes, there are plenty of reasons to be head over heels for fall. The air is crisp, the foliage is colorful and of course, the Pumpkin Spice Latte is back like it never left (because it never should have). As great as all this is, I think that a Fashionista/os favorite part about fall is finally being able to use the rest of their wardrobe and layer their clothing. We’ve been waiting out the blistering heat of summer in our crop tops and cut-off shorts, but it’s about time to wear our chunky knitwear, turtlenecks and peacoats. Layering means endless wardrobe creativity and the added flare of scarves, gloves and hats works wonders for a look. Adding a simple jacket can reinvent an outfit that might have been a summer favorite and make it fall fashion worthy and weather approved.

This Fashionistas brick orange button front jacket is the perfect style and color for the season. The classic silhouette coupled with a slightly muted pop of color catches the eye and becomes the focal point of her look. A jacket like this one in a normal denim wash is easy to incorporate into your wardrobe and easy to pull off. The color of this jacket is what makes it unique, reminding us of fallen leaves and pumpkins. There are plenty of jacket and outerwear styles where combining a classic shape with color could add versatility and liveliness to your fall wardrobe.

Our fellow Fashionista today layered her jacket over a black high-neck crop top, a neutral pattered flared skirt and vegan leather Dr. Martens, incorporating summer pieces to create the perfect fall look.

How To: The color palette for fall is on the darker side but try wearing a brighter hued jacket over your neutral pieces to add a wow factor and stand out. A great place to find unique outerwear like this Fashionistas is by visiting your local thrift store.
