ALL IN THE DETAILS: Embroiled In Embroidery

Summer weather is finally here in Southern California. That means that jeans are gone and dresses are out. I have been (not so patiently) waiting for that California heat since I hopped off the plane at LAX about two and a half weeks ago. Fortunately, I did not have to wait that long! When it did come, I was able to head straight to the beach for a morning of brunch and catching up with an old friend.

As we all know, the structured white shift dress is all the rage this season, and Laguna Beach is no exception. Here, I spotted a Fashionista rocking this look, but she wore it in a way that made it unique. Her dress was adorned with red embroidery, making it more dimensional and fun. It is also easy to dress it up or down. The bold pattern of the embroidery takes the place of a necklace, so minimal jewelry is required.

She paired her dress with a neon reddish-pink bag that she casually slung over her shoulder. The bright color was perfect for the summery look she was donning. Her brown leather sandals had an intricate design that complemented her outfit. Contrasting the deep red hues that seemed to dominate her look were the turquoise teardrop earrings she added for a glamorous vibe. No California girl is ready for the day without her sunglasses and this Fashionista took that rule very seriously. Her cat-eye sunglasses gave her an aura of confidence.

How To: Headed to the coast for a spring getaway? Be sure to pack a white dress with some fun embellishment on it. Whether it has bling or lace, a white dress is easy to throw on with no jewelry and already have a rockin’ outfit. Add a fun bag and you are ready for the sun!
