ALL IN THE DETAILS: Daring And Dainty

I am a sucker for a great outfit, but most of the time, my idea of a great outfit is pretty similar to that of a 12-year-old boy. I love my boyfriend jeans and a striped sweater. Most of my favorite items to wear are usually clean and simple, which means that an outfit can easily lose its femininity. That’s where accessories come into play.

To add some femininity to your outfit, I suggest adding some simple jewelry. Pieces are easy to find and relatively inexpensive from stores like Forever 21 if you want to build your collection. Also, once you build up your collection, there are some awesome DIY jewelry holders from YouTube channels like ToThe9s.

For this outfit, this Fashionista took a rough leather jacket from Forever 21 and some stone wash pants from Urban Outfitters to match. Those pieces alone make the look very grunge, so to break it up, she added turtleneck in a classic cream color.

We all know about the current trend of wearing comfortable shoes because you only get one set of feet. Some don’t like the idea of wearing the typical comfort shoes such as Birkenstocks or Chacos since they seem to be specific to a certain look. This Fashionista values comfortable shoes just as much as the next person, so she did some digging and found these super cute SoftWalk sandals. The rest was history.

Now onto the accessories and the reason we’re all really here. To loosen up the rugged look, add the girly bits. Wear small anklets like these from Forever 21 as well as a ring. Being the hipster that she is, this Fashionista unconventionally wore the ring on the top part of her finger. Include thin necklaces from H&M, another great store to pick up inexpensive jewelry from, to achieve this look.

How To: Dressing in clothes with rough edges and a baggy feel can be super effortless, but throwing on simple pieces of jewelry requires just as little effort—I promise. So, try some subtle jewelry during these sweater weather days. May you keep your friends on their toes and your outfits daring and dainty.
