ALL IN THE DETAILS: Cut It Out

It feels like just yesterday I was packing up my dorm room and throwing all of my bags into my car to head down to the beach for the summer. May, June and July breezed by and here we are nearing the end of our summer (talk about summertime sadness). With August in our midst, it is hard to not think about the upcoming school year ahead, and all of the things that we still have to do before we go back to our respective colleges and universities. No need to worry, you still have plenty of time to finish up your summer tan and cross some things off your checklist.

Speaking of tan, what better way to show it off than in a cutout dress? This Fashonista looks #RAD in her black strapless cutout dress, paired with light brown wedges and black and gold jewelry. This dress features both front and back cutouts, with a lower back section and three small straps in the back. I love this look, because the dress looks so comfortable and relaxed, but can be made formal at the same time.

Some really fun details of this outfit that also caught my eye were the fun mix of gold and black jewelry. Her Tory Burch black and gold bracelet was perfectly paired with her monogrammed ring. With most strapless dresses I usually try to pair a mix of different necklaces to add my own touch, but also make sure that I keep the dress as the main focus. This Fashonista layered necklaces adding some fun flare to her outfit to keep her chest from looking too bare, but also found a good balance in keeping the dress the main attraction.

How To: Nervous to take the plunge (literally) with a low back cutout? Find a dress with a simple front or side cutout such as the one featured on the front of this dress. To put it all together, add a cute pair of wedges and some statement jewelry and you are ready to go!
