ALL IN THE DETAILS: Cropped Denim, It’s Casual

I’m not sure how I could possibly get through life without my favorite pairs, yes, plural, I have far too many, of jeans. There’s just something about the way that each pair fits, alongside the cut, that can give endless possibility to the final outcome of a look.

All summer long, I’ve had a slight love affair with cropped and cuffed denim, but don’t worry, it’s casual. I’m not the biggest fan of shorts, ever, so cropped denim is the perfect solution to that because it at least allows your ankles to breathe in the, at times, undesirable summer heat! Also, a major plus for the year-round wearers of jeans that our legs are absolutely never cold in class.

This Fashionista has kept it totally comfy and casual with classic cropped and cuffed jeans paired with a semi-sheer white T-shirt. She’s totally ready to take on a day of classes while looking entirely together, and then take a long nap on the couch after class while watching reruns of HBO’s Game of Thrones (for the millionth time).

What’s really admirable about this look, aside from her ability to pull this together in under five minutes, are all of the accentuated shades of blue. This Fashionista clearly took her accessories into careful consideration, to really bring out the soft indigo tones of her light denim. Her twin necklaces, with pearl and turquoise gems, mirror both her T-shirt and jeans in the most clever way. The printed scarf, knotted at the ends with a relaxed draping, may not be entirely weather-savvy for Florida—it’s still summer until November, here—but it would totally add some coziness to a frigid hour-long encounter with a lecture hall. It also serves her color palette total justice.

How To: I know skinny jeans will always be a thing to many in this world, but boy, there are some beautiful breathable pairs of non-skinny, boyfriend jeans out there that can beat the heat, contrary to most belief. But either way, you could totally go with any jean and nail this look. Consider utilizing indigo-themed accents to pair with the denim, that way, the shirt possibilities could be endless, and your go-to denim looks can look incredibly thoughtful and well-considered. That way, you can dress your look up or down, and it will all depend on the shoe; a pointed-toe slingback heel could be a little more formal, or Birkenstocks would be more practical-it can be done either way!
