ALL IN THE DETAILS: Compliment Yourself…to A Different Color

Choosing the right accessories for an outfit is probably one of the most difficult parts of getting ready in the morning. Wearing a stylish outfit is a great way to start off your morning and to wake up. Personally, getting ready is what gets me both physically and mentally prepared for the day. After picking out the perfect outfit and shoes and going through your closet twice, you have to top it off with the perfect amount of accessories. Everyone has their own personal preference. Mine is little to no accessories. However, two general things that no one wants is for them to be either too matchy or to have so many that you look like a walking, talking accessories rack. By far, the worst problem to conquer is what color to wear.

This Fashionista told me how she managed to match turquoise blue with an outfit that has no blue in it whatsoever because of complementary colors. Complementary colors are one of the most creative ways to add the razzle dazzle factor to your outfit. They can make the simplest outfit pop! When choosing multiple accessories, make sure that one accessory does not out shine the others. Mixing up items from different stores or collections is the perfect way to look effortless in creating your outfit. Some commonly used accessories are long necklaces, stylish bangles, decorative watches and simple rings.

This Fashionista got her color inspiration with her tied tank top, tribal maxi skirt and beaded sandals. Also, her toenails happened to be the same color! These items can work with any color scheme for almost any casual event.

How To: Choose a detail color in your outfit. This Fashionista chose the orange detail in her maxi skirt and figured out what its complementary color is. Then choose multiple, small accessories that consist of the same color and add them to your outfit.
