ALL IN THE DETAILS: Cold Weather Boots

February 12th, 2015 at 2:00am

This winter seems to be never ending and the snow is only piling higher. The struggle to get out of bed and walk to class is becoming more and more real as the semester goes on. Pulling on giant, heavy, ugly boots doesn’t help. Cute shoes are officially out of the question, since they just don’t have the traction that’s needed to make it across campus without slipping and falling right on your butt.

Luckily, Dr. Martens saved the day. These clunky boots are everywhere; this year they’re even starting to take over the UGGs. They come in tons of styles and colors, making them a great option for everyone.

Us college kids aren’t the only ones wearing this chunky boot trend. Back in their fall 2014 show, Céline featured boots almost identical to Dr. Martens. Phoebe Philo isn’t the only designer to jump on this trend–chunky boots walked down Acne’s pre-fall 2015 runway as well.

This Fashionista braved the cold by wearing her Dr. Martens with an olive green puffer coat with a belt that perfectly nips her in at the waist and a big knit scarf. Her green coat is a fantastic alternative to the typical black one, and paired with the scarf the entire outfit becomes ideal for these cold winter months.

How To: Dr. Martens can be a little pricey, but luckily there are plenty of other options that look just as great. These boots from Nordstrom Rack are great if you want some pattern or these black ones are perfect to go with everything.
