ALL IN THE DETAILS: Channeling Spring in February

I’m not sure how the weather is where you are, but here in South Carolina, it’s been feeling an awful lot like spring even though it’s supposed to be the dead of winter!  Don’t get me wrong, I love spring, and sunny and 65 is my ideal weather, but there are some things I love about winter.  Among those things are the clothes—I love boots, tights, and sweaters.  However, all this warm weather has made it more difficult to enjoy wearing these things.

This Fashionista proves that, even when it’s impossibly warm outside, you can still enjoy some of your favorite winter trends.  Solid turtlenecks have really been in this year, and I love how versatile they are, especially in neutrals like this white one.  Pairing trendy, wine-colored suede booties with a mini skirt and bare legs keeps this look seasonally-appropriate, but also comfortable for the current weather.  I love the look of these embroidered skirts, and they really make a great, unexpected statement piece.  Instead of trying to match her top to the myriad of colors featured on her skirt, this Fashionista sticks to a neutral top and instead plays up the colorful skirt with an unexpected pop from her shoes and a fun, bright bracelet.  Not only does this outfit feature statement booties and a turtleneck, which are two of my favorite trends this season, it also makes for the perfect transition look because of the bright floral of the skirt, without letting the look be too “spring-y”.
