ALL IN THE DETAILS: Chain Hang

I have to admit, when it comes to accessories, my obsession with fashion is heightened. It is my favorite defense mechanism for a boring outfit. I find that the best time to accessorize is during the fall and winter because you can play with different layers, from army green jackets and scarfs to cute beanies and leg warmers. Each item adds a bit of pizzaz to a plain shirt and leggings. One of the first things I notice when scouting out a Fashionista is how she brings out the minor details. A good Fashionista will know when her accessories are too over the top or when they are omitted. I always say adding a little detail makes for a more put together ensemble.

This Fashionista made a majorly rad statement by wearing her monochromatic outfit with a unique statement necklace. This Native American- and Aztec-inspired necklace shines atop of a dark getup. I love the way this necklace inimitably dangles down her neck instead of wrapping across it. Her monochromatic flare doesn’t distract from the necklace and represents her edgy style well. This necklace is instantly interchangeable from a casual class outfit to a dressy dinner.

How To: When wearing a statement necklace you want to make sure your main outfit doesn’t take away from your bling. I suggest sticking to neutral or darker colors when wearing this type of necklace. Once you do, your outfit possibilities are endless. You can wear a simple dress and heels or make it casual and wearing a comfortable shirt and jeans. Your hair options are endless, as well. My favorite hairstyle when wearing a statement necklace is a high ponytail. It makes the outfit chicer and focuses attention to your neck.
