ALL IN THE DETAILS: Brighten Up the Cold Days

January 17th, 2017 at 2:00am

Green is a color that is not seen very often when it comes to clothing, especially a kelly green like the United States Polo Association vest that this Fashionista is wearing. This is why it is so shocking, bold, and appealing to the eyes. Ironically, the Pantone Color of the Year for 2017 is Greenery. Pantone stated that this color signified a fresh new year, the outdoors, and the concept of environment due to how popular sustainability is becoming. So, we already know that green will be a trending color for the upcoming year!

This Fashionista explained to me how she found this bold and bright vest at the Salvation Army for only one dollar! If you are looking to spruce up your dull, dark winter colors but do not have the budget post-holiday season, checking a thrift store is a wonderful idea. Adding a pop of color to an outfit in the winter when everything is especially dark, can brighten up your complexion along with your mood. A bright green is a unique and fresh color that is not always thought of while shopping.

The vest that this Fashionista is wearing is the perfect pop of color because it is not too obnoxious or loud, but it is still the first thing that the eyes are drawn to when looking at her outfit. She paired it with a simple white ribbed sweater, cotton black leggings, and lattice lace-up boots. If your bright color of choice does not happen to be green, there are still many other options for brighter wintery colors. Something to keep in mind when searching for a pop of color is that there most definitely are some colors that should stay in the summertime. A mustard yellow, burnt orange, or crimson red are other lovely colors that could be worn in the winter months. This Fashionista’s bold color choice proves that staying warm in the chilly weather does not have to be boring!
