ALL IN THE DETAILS: Brand Bro

Fashionistos and Fashionistas, when you walk into a mall, how many options do you have? I didn’t understand why my brother spent so much time in such few stores until I realized there aren’t that many places geared toward young men specifically, unlike how ladies can immediately name Charlotte Russe, Wet Seal, Windsor and at least 10 more window shopping stops. Fashionistos, to add to your variety, shop at stores that carry multiple brands, like PacSun or Urban Outfitters.

I’m one of those people that stays weary of anything with a logo out of fear of becoming a walking, talking billboard. Brands can get a little carried away with logos and letting everyone know where you got what. On top of that, if a brand has an overbearing logo, it can be pretty hard to pair with other brands’ items, or anything really. However, what true fashion lover doesn’t like to show a little love for their favorite designers? After running into this Fashionisto, the battle of the brands is one less thing I’ve got to worry about when I’m teaming up at least two logos that I wouldn’t mind seeing in a gift box.

One glance his way and it’s hard to tell he’s sporting at least five brands! How did he do it? The more laid back the pieces are, the easier it will be to put them together. The logo on his tank top could easily pass for any other graphic tank top because it has an image instead of just the company name splashed largely across. Something else to notice is that the tank has three colors: white being the most major and navy blue and maroon coming in as secondary colors.

Lastly, his remaining pieces are all subtle and keep white as the main color consistency. His shorts are logo-free and a color that would blend easily with all three that his shirt bares. Because his tank, socks and shoes are all white, white shorts would be too overpowering. However, black or grey would work just as well as his khakis! The Nike and Vans logos are so small they’d be easy to miss, which is why they’re perfect for this look. Adding a signature piece like his watch adds uniqueness to his outfit.

How To: It all comes down to color combos and little logos. A simple trick to making an outfit come together is matching your accessories to a lesser used color on your top, like our Fashionisto did with the maroon on his tank top and his hat.
