ALL IN THE DETAILS: Blanketed in Style

It’s finally started to get chilly here in Ithaca, which will make most Fashionistas/os here cringe – because that means the snowy winter is upon us. It normally lasts anywhere from October to April, and it is brutal. It’s so easy to get stuck in a rut when it comes to outfits, especially when you’re trying to keep warm and stay comfy for your dreaded trek to class. Finding inspiration for simple, comfy outfits can be hard, but this Fashionista has just the look to get you out of your outfit slump.

There are going to be so many days when you just want something easy to wear to your 9 AM days when you want to throw on sweatpants, a Northface and UGGs and just call it a day. Or, when you want to just turn to every Fashionista’s favorite color (black, of course), but you don’t want to look like you’re headed to a funeral. This Fashionista’s outfit caught my eye just because it was so simple. She managed to put together a cute, yet extremely comfy outfit for class that is easy for any Fashionista/o to re-create.

Her black pants are a jegging material that every girl needs in her wardrobe (in black obviously). These pants are great for class because you get to be comfy without wearing sweatpants. Her tunic is simple and flowy, and is easily transitioned from a breezy summer dress to an essential layering piece for winter.

But the piece that really brings her outfit together is her neutral colored blanket scarf. These scarves were a huge trend last winter, and it looks like they’re back, which makes me extremely happy. These scarves are a great accessory because they’re not only warm, they can add a pop of color or pattern to an otherwise neutral outfit, as is the case with this Fashionista’s all black ensemble. She wore beige knee-high boots and cream knee socks to finish off the look.

How To: Since a blanket scarf can be a bold statement, try wearing it with a neutral outfit instead of your favorite statement necklace.
