ALL IN THE DETAILS: Beanie Baby

Getting motivated to get out of bed in the winter is hard enough, let alone picking out a cute outfit to wear. The key to getting past this is to choose something comfy and warm. This Fashionista does a great job of this. Her henley and leggings are comfortable and perfect for layering. Her Hunter Boots make great snow boots, and her beanie completes her casual look while keeping her head warm.

Beanies are the ultimate winter accessory. They’re trendy and make a statement, but they are also practical for polar vortex kind of weather. Throw one on to fix a bad hair day, tie your outfit together or avoid getting frostbite on your ears. There are beanies made in different shapes, colors, sizes and textures, but I especially love this Fashionista’s cozy Urban Outfitters one. Some of my other favorites include this fuzzy beanie, chunky cable knit beanie, borg beanie and this faux fur pom beanie. You could just completely rebel against the cold and sport this “I Hate Winter” one.

How To: Beanies are comfortable and easy to throw on, but they can sometimes be hard to pull off without looking like a gnome or one of the seven dwarfs. To avoid this, make sure to try a beanie on before buying it to find one that looks the most flattering with your head shape. It also helps to style your hair the right way so it doesn’t look too flat from being smushed down. I always like to curl my hair when I wear a beanie to give it extra volume.
