ALL IN THE DETAILS: Army Is The New Black

January 20th, 2015 at 2:00am

Who better to take a new fashion trend from than our greatest heroes? Okay, maybe Beyoncé Knowles, maybe Blake Lively…but also, our armed forces! This season, army neutrals are everywhere. Deep mossy green and neutral beige have been taken over by (desert) storm. Whether it’s a sage jacket to face the cold or a pair of skinny cropped khakis, I’m all in.

This lovely Fashionista was found rocking not only tan work boots but also an army green scarf. Whatever is going on with this whole ugly-but-not shoe trend, I adore it. Whether it is a pair straight from dad’s closet or your own Timberlands, this trend is completely wearable with your current wardrobe. This cute Fashionista managed to spice up her look by adding an unexpected edge in her footwear. She doesn’t stop this trend there; with the matching forest colored scarf and socks, this Fashionista incorporated even more militaristic colors.

How To: Work boots, especially in a tan or khaki color, can go with almost anything. Start with a neutral, and strut them like combat boots, which are great for adding an edge to almost any daytime outfit. Thick, warm crew socks are the perfect accompaniment, and they’ll keep your feet feeling cozy. They’re also easy to throw on with leggings or jeans. If you’re feeling particularly bold, go all out and throw on some classic camo, too. Because yes, I know, we are all the type of Fashionistas who do work that demands work boots.
