ALL IN THE DETAILS: All Tied Up

The spring semester has really flown by, and with that so have all the possible combinations of outfits I can create with my winter wardrobe. Living in Florida has it’s ups and downs, but one of the worst things may be the lack of winter clothes we Florida Fashionistas/os have when winter actually does roll around… and decides to stay longer than expected. Don’t get me wrong; I love my faux fur, over-the-knee boots and turtleneck sweaters. But I haven’t worn all the lace-up dresses I planned on donning this time of year. It’s been hard not to show up to class wearing black leggings and a hoodie since my black trench is getting worn out.

I happened to spot this Fashionista on campus after class with that same trend of lace-up front tie shirts styled in a more wearable look for this winter season (even though it was a beautiful 70° F on my campus today). She perfectly adapted the lace-up top trend to the season with the mustard lace-up crop top and some black skinny jeans. This Fashionista was also carrying a long line black cardigan to stay a little warmer indoors. She completed her look with simple black booties, an easy but chic shoe to wear even to class! For accessories, she represented her school with a University of South Florida Bulls bracelet. Her makeup look was kept clean with a winged liner and pink lips. I’m making this inspiration for my next dress-up-for-class type of day, or for any type of day really.

How To: Is there a trend you absolutely love but don’t think you can completely pull off due to the season? Try using aspects of that trend, like this Fashionsta did. She knew a lace-up bodysuit wouldn’t be appropriate for class and a lace-up dress would leave her frozen so she opted for a loose fit lace-up crop top.
