ALL IN THE DETAILS: Accessorize to Stand Out

It is finally my favorite time of year: sundress weather! Sundresses are easy to throw on in the morning and can be worn casually or more dressed up. For me personally, if the dress is simple, like the one worn by this Fashionista, I like to pair it with accessories that emphasize the look and make it stand out a little more. If the sundress has a pattern like flowers or polka-dots on it, it is important to keep the accessories simple, as to not over due it.

This Fashionista, decided to wear a baby blue halter dress. But the dress is not what made the outfit, the accessories did. She paired the dress with a Michael Kors tote bag that is large enough to fit schoolbooks and notebooks for class. She also wore tan sandals and large sunglasses. She wore two unique bracelets along with a plethora of rings on her fingers. Rings have become very popular, with girls can be seen wearing many rings on both hands. Sometimes you can buy these types of rings in a set, or you could go the route of this Fashionista and buy them all on separate occasions.

Another small detail of her outfit was her nails that were painted the same exact color of the dress. She informed me that this was just a coincidence. The style of her dress also puts emphasis on her tattoos. She has two tattoos, one on her upper back and one on her collarbone. The dress cuts in a way that both of the tattoos are fully on display. If you are a person with tattoos that you want people to see, try and find dresses that highlight them. The accessories and her body art were small details in her outfit that stand out against the simple baby blue dress.

How To: Pick out a sundress in a color that fits your skin tone the best. Then put on jewelry items that will add a unique edge to your look. This could be a statement necklace, a unique pair of sunglasses or an interesting purse. This Fashionista wore multiple unique pieces that managed to stand out against her dress. She told me that many of her rings were found at antique or vintage stores. One of her bracelets was a family heirloom making it even more unique and special.
