ALL IN THE DETAILS: Accessorize Me

Anna Sui’s spring 2015 ready-to-wear show was all about bold prints, statement jewelry and killer shoes. It is often said that less is more however this designer showed that more really is more. Accessories are often the key to completing a look, whether it be a pair of earrings, a giant cocktail ring or a colorful statement necklace. But topping off an outfit isn’t limited to adding accessories; textures, prints and colors can all be utilized when deciding how to perfect a look.

This Fashionista chose to accessorize in many ways. She included prints, texture and statement jewelry in her look and all three components contributed to an Anna Sui-esque outfit. Choosing a leopard print shoe was daring but completely acceptable because let’s face it, animal print is basically a neutral (at least for me). By choosing plain black jeans, this Fashionista was able to add more texture and accessories to her top.

Statement necklaces are an amazing thing because although they are only one piece of jewelry, they have the potential of taking an outfit to the next level. They add a pop of color and are always eye catching, which is good when you want to stand out! This Fashionista chose a green-blue ombre necklace that contrasted well with her neutral long sleeve and vest.

In addition to jewelry and prints, texture is a major player in the style game. It’s something that catches your eye and has a big effect on the overall feel of an outfit. If you put a great piece and texture together, you get an amazing textured shirt, like this Fashionista. Her gray waffle long sleeve takes the neutral top up a notch and provides a nice background for the denim vest. Denim is great because it’s so versatile; you can wear it both on the top and bottom (and if you do it right, you can wear them at the same time).

How To: If it feels like you’re wearing too much, in most cases you probably are. While wearing multiple accessories and prints at once can be fun, definitely know when to take it easy. Some outfits only require one piece of jewelry, and sometimes none at all!
